About The School
Loreto Day School dates back to 1879. The school is under the management of the Loreto Sisters of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which was founded in the 17th century by Mary Ward, who was a visionary of education for women and girls and the important role they would play in society. Today, the school is recognised by the Education Department of the Government of West Bengal and is under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and affiliated with the Indian Council for Secondary Education.

May the mind, heart, and soul of each child be moulded and nurtured with love and care in this sacred shrine of learning, known as Loreto Day School, Dharamtala. May she become 'future-ready', empowered to take her rightful place in society. May the vision of our foundress, Mary Ward, be lived out by each girl through the actualization of Mary Ward's core values of justice, freedom, sincerity, truth, and joy. It is our endeavour in Loreto Day School to nurture "agents of positive social change" and "cheerful givers."
